About PASAP

The Pan-African State Accountability Project (PASAP) is a multi-partner, multi-level pan-African project coordinated by the Plan African Union and Pan Africa Programme office. The PASAP project has been focused on addressing the gap that exists between policy-making and implementation affecting children’s rights (CR) in African countries. The project seeks to strengthen Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) capability and technical capacity to hold state actors within their respective countries accountable for the implementation and advocacy of child rights programming.

The PASAP project’s first phase ran between January 2015 and June 2019, with the last year representing an extension period of the original schedule. The project was concluded by an Annual Review Meeting held between 19th and 21st June 2019 in Nairobi among the different PASAP partners across the regions in which it operates.

Outcomes

  1. CSOs including children and youth actively engage in monitoring and advocacy to influence the implementation of human/child rights instruments.
  2. Proactive networking, collaboration, and coordination on child rights enhanced among CSO networks/platforms.
  3. The institutional and technical capacity of CSO networks and coalitions at a different level is strengthened.
  4. Learning and sharing around child rights enhanced among CSOs at different levels.
