
CLAUDE JEAN KANDEM
PROGRAMME ASSISTANT, EDUCATION SUPPORT PROGRAMME
Claude Jean Kandem is a graduate of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology School of Law (First Class Honours) and is currently a student at the Kenya School of Law where he is enrolled under the Advocates Training Programme (ATP). He is very passionate about mentorship and has been able to positively impact many young people through his programme dubbed Maximum Motivation Life (MOTMAX Life).
Claude worked as an intern at the Kenya Human Rights Commission where he was involved in dispute resolution (primarily mediation) and provision of legal aid in terms of referrals and legal advice. He also volunteered at Amka Africa Justice Initiative as the Legal Aid Clinics Coordinator where he was in charge of coordinating activities between various University Legal Aid Clinics before joining the East African Centre for Human Rights as an intern in the Education Support Programme.
Claude has an interest in human rights law, social justice, advocacy, litigation and education. This, coupled with his passion for teaching has made him an invaluable asset to the organization. He brings on-board his experience and skills in programme coordination, advocacy, awareness creation and capacity building.
