Meet the Team
Chief Executive Officer
Cleophas is the Chief Executive Officer of the East African Centre for Human Rights. Cleophas holds a First Class Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of Nairobi, and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Development Anthropology in the same University.
Cleophas has over five years of experience in humanitarian aid provision and management, peace building, advocacy and child protection. Having been part of the inaugural Humanitarian Leadership Development Programme in 2009 (implemented by Save the Children UK), Cleophas proceeded to work in various office and field locations managing emergency and early recovery projects. Cleophas has worked with the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) in the emergencies department as well as CARITAS Maralal, leading emergency teams in delivery of aid to vulnerable populations.
Cleophas brings to the organization vast experience in fundraising, coordination and capacity building.
Abraham Ochieng’ is a Programme coordinator at EACHRights, graduated from Kenyatta University with a Bachelor’s Degree Major in Economics and Minor in Sociology, he has over four years’ experience in project management in different field which include, Gender, Health, Governance, and Human Rights.
He also has experience in Devolution focusing on strategic planning, budget tracking and analysis. Abraham is a trainer of trainers in Economic, Social and cultural rights by Amnesty International.
Abraham is currently working under the Policy Reform and Advocacy program in the organization.
Assistant Programme Officer
Mary Mshai is an assistant Programme officer at EACHRights. Mshai graduated from International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University -Netherlands with a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Development Studies majoring in Social Policy for Development and Maseno University with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology with Information Technology.
She has over one-year research experience. Additionally, she has over a year’s experience working in the corporate sector which nurtured excellent planning, report writing and communication skills.
She is currently working under the Research and Monitoring program in the organization.
Assistant Programme Officer
Margaret is an assistant Programme officer at EACHRights. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the United States International University – Africa (USIU-A), as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the same University.
She has experience in community development work. She has vast experience in qualitative research. Margaret brings to the organization vast public Relations, communication and awareness creation skills.
She is currently working under the Awareness Creation and Capacity Building Program in the organization.
Sarah Ann Okaka
Finance and Administrative Officer
Sarah Okaka is a Project Accountant at EACHRights. She graduated from Daystar University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce Majoring in Accounting. Sarah has over three years’ experience in accounting.
She is currently workingunder the Finance and Admin program in the organization.
